Our December has started quietly. It's so cosy, especially in the mornings. The girls have a little present each morning in their Christmas stockings, and it makes it much more easy for all of us to get up these dark mornings. The advent wreath is up with beeswax candles we made at the local Waldorf school. It smells really good - a mix of pine, juniper, spruce and honey. And this weekend we managed to bake a batch of gingerbread. We used a new recipe from Green Kitchen Stories - it felt almost like sacrilege since we are normally using my mom's old recipe, but I must admit that these turned out really good and are just as warmly spiced as gingerbread should be. We haven't decorated our home yet - the Christmas elements seem to find their places little by little this year, and I kind of like that.
