A couple of days ago we took a full day's trip to the beautiful tiny village of Mörtfors, not too far from our country house. We were planning to take a boat trip on the river that passes through the village, but we were too late due to some flea markets that distrated us on the road. So we ended up spending the day in the village, walking around looking at the pretty houses and gardens, swimming in the lake and eating ice cream at the very cosy local boarding house, and it turned out not too bad anyway. There were so many fine details in the village - as the curtains in the changing room at the lake with hand embroidered signs for "flickor" and "pojkar" (girls & boys), or the old worn out gas station. Next year we will come back for a trip with the boat.
This was one of those perfect vacation days where everything you meet on your way is beautiful and nothing seems to go wrong. We ended up at a wonderful tavern that was originally a train stop and on this lucky evening they even hosted a micro concert. I'll show you photos from this spot in my next post.
